Elizabeth Jane Sims Craig, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on October 4, 2025. She was born on January 24, 1949, to the late James Pius Sims and Martha Lou French Sims.
Jane was the proud matriarch of her family and a woman of deep Catholic faith. She dedicated 20 years of her career as a dental assistant working in Dr. TJ O’Hearn’s office before spending another 20 years serving as a custodian at Owensboro Catholic Middle School. Jane had a creative spirit and loved attending craft shows, shopping for treasures, and doting on every baby she met. Her greatest joy came each year when she decorated for Christmas, a season she made magical for everyone around her.
Along with her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband, William Robert “Bobby” Craig.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, William Robert “B.J.” Craig Jr.; siblings, Rosemary Sims (Larry) O’Brien, Steve (Lisa) Sims, Tony (Misty) Sims and Denny ( Dorothy) Sims, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery
