
Adam Ryan King, 35, of Maceo, passed away on September 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. He was born on May 10, 1990, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and was the beloved son of Mark and Beth King.
Adam proudly served his country as a United States Marine after graduating from high school, carrying with him a spirit of adventure and resilience. Among his many accomplishments, he climbed Mount Fuji not once, but twice, each summit a testament to his determination and love for life’s challenges. Adam had a sharp wit and an infectious sense of humor. He delighted in making people laugh, often trying out his stand-up comedy routines on his family who, lovingly, became his favorite punchlines. His laughter filled every room, and his joy was deeply felt by those who knew him best. He was a devoted father, cherishing his daughters with all his heart. His love for them was unwavering, and he took great pride in being a guiding light in their lives. Adam was clever and full of kindness. He had a passion for mixed martial arts, training in multiple fighting styles with discipline and enthusiasm. He also had a deep appreciation for art, expressing his love for it through the tattoos that adorned his body, each work of art telling its own story.
Adam was preceded in death by his brother, Evan King, and dog, Gabriel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Piper and Emma; parents, Mark and Beth King; sister, Haley King; grandfather, Dennis Hazelwood; fiancé, Crys; best friend, Jeremy; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, 5050 KY-144, Owensboro, KY 42303, with military honors performed by local VFW Post 696. Following the service, a meal will be shared at 3 p.m. at Olive Garden, 5204 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301.
