
Sue Carter, 65, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born on February 26, 1960, in Hardinsburg, and was the beloved daughter to the late John David Snowden.
Sue dedicated over 20 years of her life to serving her community through Emergency Medical Services at Owensboro Daviess County Hospital Services, in addition to five years of compassionate care in their Emergency Department. Her unwavering commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on those she worked with and cared for. Outside of her career, Sue found great joy in celebrating the holidays. She especially loved her festive blow molds, decorations, and bright lights, which brought warmth and cheer to everyone around her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 48 years, Richard Carter; son, David Carter; beloved grandchildren, Ava Grace and Daniel Owen; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A memorial gathering to honor Sue’s life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Reid’s Orchard, 4818 KY-144, Owensboro, KY 42303. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative are of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathen’s Crossing, Owensboro, KY, 42301, in Sue’s name, in honor of the courageous battle she fought with strength and grace.
