July 20, 1944 - October 14, 2025

William Chris Bolin

William Chris Bolin, 81, of Owensboro, passed away on October 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 20, 1944, in Troy, Indiana, and was the beloved son of the late Fred Bolin and Hazel Bowman.
William was a steadfast, strong willed, stubborn man, who loved his family beyond measure. He liked to pull out his guitar and play the old country greats, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, all the outlaw stuff. That was his kind of music. If he wasn’t playing tunes, he was out fishing, hollering “Bingo!” at the hall, or sipping his coffee that went with him everywhere. Above all, William loved Cathy. She was his rock, and he took care of her with a quiet kind of tenderness that only a few ever got to see. He lived his life honestly and full of heart, as he was a man of faith and knew the comfort that awaited him. William was the kind of man who left a mark and didn’t apologize for it.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Allen, Ray Bolin, Bud Bolin, May Bolin, and Fred Bolin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his significant other of 35 years, Cathy Short; children, Crystal Galloway (Thomas), Patsy Bolin (Robert Bray), Justin Bolin, Gary Bolin, Linda Bolin, Jeff Bolin, and Jesse Bolin; grandchildren, Nevaeh Bolin, Alyssa McKenzie, Korben Bray, Ayden Bray, and Kayden Bray; nephew, Willie Donahue; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A memorial service to honor William’s life will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, at 4 p.m., at Matthew’s Table, 100 W. 23rd St., Owensboro, KY 42303.
