It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden, yet peaceful passing of Rachel McNulty Higdon, who left this earth on October 23rd, 2025. Born on December 11th, 1951, Rachel Marie was the 10th of 16 children born to Martin and Anita Reisz McNulty on a farm in Bon Harbor Hills, KY.
She is a 1970 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, attended Brescia College, Lexington Community College, and numerous sales courses, which gave her the knowledge and confidence to open her own successful business, Infinity Digital Media, which served multiple counties in KY & IN through Digital Marketing.
Rachel probably gave away more than she ever received. It brought her great joy to bake cakes—only to give them all away. Whether it was leftovers, something home-crafted, or a random item she found that “looked just like you,” she delighted in giving. Rarely did anyone leave her presence empty-handed. She learned long ago that it is in giving that we truly receive.
She saw beauty in things others might overlook or discard. Whether in nature or through recognizing a need, her eye for repurposing and reimagining was unmatched. She was a true “out-of-the-box” thinker, with a gift for transforming the ordinary into something meaningful.
As stories pour in about Rachel, they all share a common thread—her selfless spirit and the countless ways she made others feel seen and special. She came to the aid of those in need, giving freely of her time and talents without ever seeking recognition or reward. She never boasted or shared what she had done, embodying the words of Scripture: “Your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”
That’s how she lived her life—loving deeply, giving selflessly, lifting others up, and treating others as Jesus would.
We will always cherish the memories, the lessons she taught us, and her unwavering belief in putting family first. She will be missed by so many whose lives she touched.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Rosemary McNulty Payne and Jeanne McNulty, 3 brothers Marty McNulty, Dan McNulty and Jimmy McNulty, 2 sisters-in-law, Frankie McNulty and Diana McNulty, brother-in-law, Danny Lyon and nephew Jay Michael McNulty.
Rachel leaves a long list of loved ones including her best friend and precious husband of 23 years, Leon Higdon. Those blessed to call her “Momma” are Kerrie Roberts Druen, Phil Roberts Jr. (Lori), and Amy Roberts Clayton (Barrett). She was also a loving StepMother to Heather Higdon Taylor (Bryan), Scott Higdon (Margi), and Jeremy Higdon (Heather).
