Roy J. Compton, age 77 of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away November 12, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin. He was born in Custer, KY on February 9, 1948, son of the late Jimmy and Elva Ree Drake Compton. Roy retired from ACBL where he was chief engineer and known by his co-workers as “Dr. Roy”. He was a former Mason. Roy and his pets, Teddy and Toby, spent many hours being entertained by Clint Eastwood. He enjoyed gardening, canning and raising chickens. He was a wonderful caregiver for his late wives Maxine and Frances, his uncle and his mother-in-law.

7 grandchildren: Savannah Jolly, Audrey Jolly Wood, Morgan Compton, Ashley Compton, Andrew Compton, Jacob Compton and Brian Bandy
4 great grandchildren: Earl Compton, Nova Bandy, Korbyn Shown and Timberlyn Wood
3 half sisters and 1 half brother: Joann, Joyce, Sandy and Donnie
Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, 2025, 10 AM – 12 PM with a graveside service to follow at Horsley Chapel Cemetery. All times are central.
