David Kincheloe Burden, 79, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at Heartford House on November 15, 2025, surrounded by family. David was born on September 15, 1946, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Byron Kincheloe Burden and Rebecca Powers Burden. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. David married the love of his life, Vicki Darlene Toler Burden, when she was 18, and they were married for 56 years until her passing. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and generosity.

David was known for his talent and passion for all things mechanical. He loved cars, motorcycles, street rods, tools, and working on endless projects in his garages. He enjoyed traveling to Gatlinburg, riding through the mountains, and spending time exploring the places he loved most. He was stubborn in the best way, fiercely independent, and always willing to lend a hand to help others.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Burden.

He is survived by his sons, David Michael Burden and Daniel L. Burden; grandchildren, Zachariah Michael Burden, Eric Logan Clark, Abigail Paige Burden, Kylie Nicole Burden, Dominic Lee Burden, and Cole Alexander Burden; two great-grandchildren, Denver Logan Clark and Harper Kate Clark; sister, Judy Hancock; brother, Sherrill Burden; and several cousins and extended family members.

David will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, and the generosity he showed throughout his life. His memory will live on in the stories he shared, the projects he completed, and the love he carried for his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
