Emily Marie Sargent, 50, of Owensboro passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2025. She was born on February 21, 1975 to the late William J. Potts and Hattie Lou Young Potts. Emily was a creative, unconventional, and welcoming spirit who adored her family and friends equally. She had an unmistakable smile, a bright and beautiful laugh, and a love for playing pool.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Potts.
Emily was the loving wife and soulmate of Jason Sargent who stood by her side with endless love and devotion. Together they built a life filled with family, love, and affection.
Emily was the proud mother of Mary Frances Boarman and Joseph Boarman, Adaline Fulkerson, John and Alexis Sargent, Sophie Fulkerson, Michael and Katie Sargent, and Mathew and Shayla Sargent. Watching her children grow and build families of their own brought her immeasurable joy. Emily’s heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren, Hudson Griffith, Thomas Griffith, William Fulkerson, Hazel Boarman, Giovanni Boarman, Jackson Sargent and Theo Sargent. Being “Boo Boo” to her grandchildren was unwavering and she ensured that their hearts and lives were always full.
Also surviving are her sisters, Annette Coy, Alison Fiorella, and Abby Cissell (Darren); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.
