Rhea Beverly “Rusty” Riddle, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born February 17, 1937 in Daviess County to the late Arthur and Wilda Walker Wahl. Rusty was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. She was a creative and talented artist, author, and storyteller.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Don Riddle; children, Joel (Paula) Riddle of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Tim (Wendy) Riddle of Kingston, Tennessee, and Jill (David) Mackey of Owensboro; grandchildren, Matthew Riddle, Sara (David) Grinnell, Whitney (Matthew) Paroline, Josh (Brittani) Riddle, Ben (Leslie) Riddle, Hallie (Thomas) Reid, and Danielle Mackey; great-grandchildren, Harper and Luna Grinnell, and Maddi Rhea Riddle; siblings, Dick (Bette) Wahl of Louisville and Jo (Drex) Stuart of Calhoun; and she was known as Aunt B to several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
