Blaine E. Weddle, 97, of Owensboro, passed away on December 6, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1928, in West Virginia. He joined the United States Army as soon as he was old enough, proudly serving his country. After his discharge, he enjoyed exploring the United States, giving him some crazy stories to share from his younger years. Blaine began working for AT&T and Bell South in 1952, in the Florida Keys and Miami, where he would meet his soon to be wife, Mary. After thirty-three years of dedicated work, he retired from AT&T and Bell South and enjoyed retirement longer than he worked. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and Telephone Pioneers. Blaine loved spending time with his family over a good meal and ball game.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Mary Rudd Weddle, who passed in 2000.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Blaine J. Weddle (Sheryl) of Bloomingdale, IL, daughter, Mary J. Alvey (Chris), and his granddaughter, Abigail M. Weddle of Bloomingdale, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Parish, 2516 Christie Pl., Owensboro, KY 42301, or Daniel Pitino Shelter, 501 Walnut St., Owensboro, KY 42301, in Blaine’s honor.
Care entrusted to Cardinal Cremation Society.
