Birdie Lee Teller, age 98 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away January 10, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on February 19, 1927, daughter of the late Lewis and Flonie Lyons Rankin. She was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church, New Bethel Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Hites Run Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of WMU and Mission friends. She enjoyed gardening and birdwatching.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold Teller, son Raymond Teller, daughter Julia Catherine Johnston, siblings Paul, Gilbert, Albert, Virginia and Robert Rankin, Louise Carwile and Mabel Stinnett.
Birdie is survived by 3 children: Jefferson Teller (Camille) of Hampton, VA; Nancy Denton (James) and Grace Teller of Hardinsburg, KY
11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren
Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 4 – 7 PM and Thursday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
