Sue DeMoss Jones passed peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born on January 8, 1940, to P.W. and Gertrude DeMoss.
In her high school years, Sue began voice lessons and participated in singing competitions. She continued singing in church through her life. She started in the jewelry business in 1985 and owned her own shops in Owensboro and Henderson. She loved Bingo and spent time with Frank, and her bingo friends, laughing and playing cards. Sue was a beautiful lady and very flashy – “sassy, classy, and brassy” and it served her well through the years. But in her retirement, she best loved her glass porch, being with Frank, and all her kitty cats. They comforted her in her last days. Sue was a devoted member of Masonville Methodist Church.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Donna Jean DeMoss.
Sue is survived by her husband of 39 years, Frank Jones; her daughter, Susan (James) McFadden of Masonville; her son, Timothy (Jennifer) Taylor of Clovis, California; her son, D.D (Alane) Taylor of Masonville; her stepson, Frankie (Sidney) Jones of Tucson, Arizona, and one sister. Sue had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
