Clyde Cannon Grider

Clyde Cannon Grider, 83, of Hartford, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on December 13, 1942 in Jefferson County, Kentucky to the late Clyde and Thelma Fleming Grider. Clyde was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during Vietnam. He worked at General Electric and Premium Allied Tool as a tool and die maker and later was the owner and operator of Grider’s Auto Salvage until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Barbara Grider and Fran Grider; and siblings, Valdrice Watts and Ramona Bell Grider.

He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Susan Shultz and Alisha Watts Doughty (Marvin); a special nephew, Alan Grider Watts; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Arlayne Moseley (Joe), Rebecca Best (Larry), and David Dwight Grider; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Serenity Hill Cemetery in Hawesville, Kentucky. Visitation is from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday and from 12:00pm until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
