Gary Michael Grant, 72, of Owensboro passed away January 31, 2026. Gary was born in Owensboro on September 13, 1953, to the late Charles Edward and Alta Helen Clary Grant.
Gary was a familiar and trusted presence in the local agricultural community. Local farmers knew Gary as someone they could talk to and count on, valuing his knowledge. That trust and respect eventually led him to his role at Ohio Valley Ag, where he continued working alongside area farmers. Gary took pride in being helpful and dependable for the farming community.
Gary was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a man who lived life with a love for speed, engines, and family. An avid motorsports enthusiast, Gary had a lifelong passion for drag racing and cars, finding joy in the roar of engines and the camaraderie of the racing community. Above all else, Gary treasured his role as a grandfather. He loved his grandchildren deeply and was always present for them—never missing an opportunity to cheer them on at their events and milestones.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Nelda Howard Grant; his children Shawn (Becky) Grant and Sabrina (Ryan) Ison; his grandchildren Connor James Grant, Marissa Anne Grant, Tinsley Michelle Ison and Ryan Michael Ison; his brothers Eddie (Peggy), Tommy and Donnie Grant; along with several nieces and nephews.
