Sharon Fogle, age 78 of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 28, 2026. Born February 2, 1948, in Curdsville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ura Patrick and Mary Grace Simon Fogle.
Sharon, the youngest of 11 siblings, retired from Carmel Home after 17 years of dedicated service as a nurse’s aide, where she cared for others with compassion and a servant’s heart. She was a natural hugger, never hesitating to wrap her arms around friends and strangers alike, and she faithfully prayed for everyone she met. A devoted Catholic, Sharon prayed the rosary regularly and lived her faith openly and wholeheartedly. She cherished time spent with her beloved “Breakfast Club” girlfriends and rarely missed an episode of Fox News. Known for her honesty and spirited personality, Sharon had no filter and was never shy about speaking her mind — a trait that made her both memorable and deeply loved.
She is survived by her siblings, Ruth Ann McCarty, Tom Fogle, and Bill Fogle; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary (Dr. Ralph) Bosch, Rita (Vernon) Wathen, Rose (Leroy) Senn, Jeannie (Joe) Coomes, Betty (John) DeLacey, Edna Jones, and Peggy (Woody) Porter; and her brother and sister-in-law, Jerome McCarty, and Mary Frances Fogle.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation from 11:00 am until the time of mass at the church.
Expressions of sympathy can take the form of charitable donations made payable to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathen’s Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
