The Apollo E-gals bounced back from Saturday’s loss to Grayson County and grabbed a district win ahead of next week’s 9th District Tournament in the process as they took down Daviess County Tuesday night.
Apollo fell behind and dropped the first two sets but battled back to the 3-2 (18-25, 23-25, 27-25, 25-23, 15-9) victory.
The win improved the E-gals’ record to 14-6 while the Lady Panthers fall to 8-3.
Apollo was led by Havanah John’s 18 kills and 2 digs while Maddi Boswell (11 kills, block, 4 digs, 2 aces), Brylee Rhodes (5 kills, 4 blocks, 4 digs, ace), Aliyah Carwile (5 kills, 2 blocks, 5 digs), Tallie Satterfield (3 kills), Allie Hargitt (35 assists, 6 digs, 3 aces), Anslee Hopewell (30 digs, 4 assists, ace), Abby Spong (14 digs) and Camryn Kerwick (10 digs, ace) also contributed to the victory over Daviess County.
The Lady Panthers were led by Elizabeth Moore’s 21 kills and 19 digs. Kendal Goetz (19 digs, ace) Josie Newcom (9 kills, block, assist, 10 digs, 4 aces), Jasmine Beasley (15 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs), Ryann Keller (2 kills, 2 blocks, 32 assists, 6 digs), Adylan Ayer (6 kills, 3 blocks, 7 digs, ace) and Lexi Owen (kill, 15 assists, 11 digs, ace) also had solid matches for DC.
Apollo hits the court Thursday at Trinity while Daviess County plays at home against Grayson County Thursday.
