Apollo 11, McLean County 2
The Apollo Eagles went on the road Friday and took down McLean County 11-2 in Calhoun.
Apollo scored in the first but added 10 runs in the final four innings for the victory.
Will Strode picked up the win for the Eagles as he struck out six in five innings of work and allowed one earned run on three hits.
Harrison Bowman (2-4, 3B, 2 RBI, 3 R), Dan St. Clair (2-2, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Josh Mayes (2-4,R BI, R) and Landon Hamilton (2-3, 2B, RBI, 2 R) led the Eagles at the plate. Sam Holder and Cayden Crabtree each had a single and scored for Apollo.
Apollo plays at home today against Great Crossing and McCracken County.
Daviess County 10, Grayson County 2
The Daviess County Panthers bookended Friday’s game against Grayson County with three-run innings as they cruised to a 10-2 win over the Cougars.
GC only scored in the bottom of the sixth while the Panthers offense was working throughout the game.
Hunter Payne grabbed the win with three strikeouts and only one earned run while he allowed just four hits.
Decker Renfrow (2-3, 3B, RBI, 2 R) and Layton Huskisson (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) had multiple runs and hits while Bo Stratton also scored twice in the win.
Jackson loucks added an RBI and a run.
DC plays Tuesday at home against Hancock County.
Owensboro Catholic 4, McCracken County 3
The No. 4 Owensboro Catholic Aces followed up their All “A” Classic championship Thursday with a win over No. 3 McCracken County on Friday.
Catholic had the bases loaded with the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh when Hunter Small hit a ball to the right side that landed in shallow right field to score the winning run.
McCracken scored in the first and had a 3-0 lead after three before the Aces offense found its flow.
Catholic scored three in the bottom of the third with Sam McFarland and Luke Scales getting RBIs in the frame.
Small not only had the game-winning RBI but he also finished with two hits and earned the win on the mound after he struck out five in 6.1 IP.
J Crabtree also had two hits for the Aces.
Catholic plays today at Lyon County against the Lyons and the Hopkinsville Tigers.
Ohio County 12, Trinity 7
Trinity led Ohio County midway through Friday’s matchup but the Eagles scored in all but one inning as they took down the Raiders 12-7.
Seven Raiders had hits in the win as Hayden Aull and Nolan Mills each finished 2-4 with an RBI.
Denver Dickens went 1-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs in the game. Connor Hatfield added a single and two RBIs for Trinity.
Trinity plays Tuesday at McLean County Tuesday before ending the regular season May 22 in a doubleheader with Trigg County in Whitesville.
