The Owensboro Post 9 Bombers scored eight runs in the top of the fifth en route to a 13-5 win over Evansville Pate Post 265. Easton Blandford put the Bombers on the board first in the top of the first, scoring on a wild pitch and Talon Cartwright followed it up by scoring on a passed ball. Evansville took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Bombers tied it in the top of the second on a Colton Carver RBI single.
Leading 5-4 entering the top of the fifth, Blandford scored on a bases-loaded walk to start the team’s run barrage. Hayden Fisher hit into a fielder’s choice, and Logen Thomas reached on an error to push the lead to 8-4. Carver reached on a seperate error to make it 10-4, before Blandford capped off the inning with a three run homer.
Blandford went 1-2 with three RBIs, while Cartwright finished 2-4. Barret Evans was efficient on the mound, allowing three earned runs over six innings, striking out five, while Cartwright pitched the seventh.
