On Thursday, the GO Junior Golf Series held the Southern Series Championship at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club. For the boys and girls 8-under age group, Madisonville’s Theodore Cole (19) and Bowling Green’s Caroline McElroy (17) won – both finishing as Tour Champions. In the boys and girls 9-10 age group, Madisonville’s Scott Ralston (27) and Central City’s Ainsley Morris (33) won – both finishing as Tour Champions.
In the boys and girls 11-12 age group, Hoptown’s Cole Crick (37) won, finishing as tour runner up, while Madisonville’s Sawyer Stanley (46) was Tour Champion for the boys. Hoptown’s Ella Perry (44) won for the girls, finishing as Tour Champion.
In the 9-hole division, Manitou Jaxon Vincent (36) won for the boys 13-15 age group, finishing as first flight winner, while Owensboro Paxton Divine (38) was Tour Champion. In the 18-hole division, Madisonville’s Will Burden (84) won and was named Tour Champion for the boys, while for the girls, Hoptown’s Harper Hunt (83) won. Beaver Dam’s Molly Amos (86) finished as Tour Champion.
In the 16-18 age group, Hoptown’s Landon Hunt shot a 66, tying the Go Series record. Owensboro Luke Estes (79) was named Tour Champion for the boys, while Henderson’s Ainsley Dalton (86) won Tour Champion for the girls.
