Competing in a stacked tournament field at the Lady Bruin Invitational, the Daviess County girls’ golf team held its own, finishing third (334) behind Sacred Heart (302) and Bowling Green (323).
I thought for the girls to play back-to-back days in this incredible heat and perform the way they did is a testament to their hard work and dedication to keep improving,” Daviess County coach Brandon Reynolds said.
Claire Reynolds led the way for the Lady Panthers, shooting 75 and finishing five overall in the individual. Baylie Billingsley (80, tied for 13th), Briley Billingsley (86, tied for 25th), and Kennedi Minton (93, tied for 42nd) rounded out the team’s top four scores. Ayla Roberts was the team’s fifth member, shooting 103 and finishing 54th overall.
“Today was a great tournament with a competitive field of girls,” Baylie Billingsley said. “I have some swing fixes to make over the weekend, but hopefully next week we can show off some better scores as individuals and as a team.”
