Owensboro swept their doubleheader, while the Aces beat Evansville Day School. In other action, Apollo dropped a close game to Central Hardin.
Central Hardin 2, Apollo 1
Jason Palacios assited Frank Mendez for the Eagles lone goal in their 2-1 loss to Central Hardin. Nolan Perkins recorded 12 saves in net.
“The boys played well,” Apollo Head Coach Nikos Agisilaou said. “They actually had a good week against two tough opponents. We lost both games late, but we are improving as the season goes on.”
Owensboro sweeps double header
Playing back-to-back games, Owensboro took care of business, beating Webster County 8-1 and Oldham County 7-0. In their win over Webster County, Owensboro opened with four first-half goals thanks to Jackson Sigler and Max Knoop. Dennis Juma also scored twice, while Sigler had two assists. In the second half, Sigler and Juma both added another goal, while Luke Wilborn and Avidael Diaz both scored.
Against Oldham County, the Red Devils scored four goals in the first half and added three more in the second. Peter Mbayo scored twice including off a penalty kick, while Sigler and Juma both found the back of the net.
“Our defense allowed three total shots all day,” Owensboro Head Coach Ryan Haley said. “I’m extremely happy with how we limited the opposition in this regard. We are now turning our focus towards a difficult week five.”

Outshooting Evansville Day School 35-6, the Aces took care of business, winning 4-0. Andrew Bailey, Frankie Fusco, Colton Wallace, and Owen Moss all scored, while Bailey had two assists, and JW Kurtz had one. Max Dawson finished with three saves in net.
“I thought we started slowly and didn’t move the ball as efficiently as we can,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Andy Donohoe said. In the second half, we started to play with greater speed and intensity, and it showed in our chance creation.”
