Owensboro dominated Henderson County 65-3 at Rash Stadium on Friday in the regular season finale. OHS extended its winning streak to eight games and has outscored its last four opponents 242-17.

It took just one play for OHS to set the tone, as Evan Hampton broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown on the opening snap. Henderson answered with a 40-yard field goal to make it 7-3, but Hampton responded with another long run — this time a 64-yard score — to stretch the lead back to double digits.

Quarterback DaMarcus Ganaway Jr. and wideout Kingston Dillard then connected on a 33-yard touchdown late in the first quarter to make it 21-3. Moments later, a bad snap on a Henderson punt rolled through the end zone for a safety, and Owensboro continued to pile on the points.

Ganaway scrambled for a 30-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter, then found Dillard again from 10 yards out after a fumble recovery by Eli Hampton. The Red Devils took a 37-3 lead into halftime.

The second half opened much like the first — with big plays. Tee Green intercepted a pass on Henderson’s opening drive, and on the very next play, Hampton sprinted 52 yards to the end zone. Ganaway later found Ayden Fountain for a 53-yard touchdown, pushing the lead to 51-3 entering the fourth quarter.

Henderson did record an interception but fumbled the ball on the play, with Green recovering for OHS. Green then scored on a 42-yard rushing touchdown. The scoring finished with a 27-yard touchdown reception by Kalil Shemwell.

Ganaway finished 10-of-15 passing for 225 yards and three touchdowns. Hampton carried nine times for 198 yards and three scores, while Dillard led the receivers with five catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, Owensboro held Henderson County to just 71 total yards — 51 through the air and 19 on the ground. Green led the team with five tackles, and Ty Ashley added four.

OHS will now host Grayson County next week to open the Class 5A playoffs.
