It was a positive night for the local teams as Daviess County and Trinity (Whitesville) both won.

Daviess County 68, North Laurel 47

Trailing North Laurel 16-12 early, Daviess County rode an explosive second half to come out on top 68-47. DeAaron Watkins led the way with 19 points and four rebounds, and Lemontae Ratcliff added 17 points, four rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Jonathan Moss had 16 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, while Michael Acton recorded nine points.

Trinity (Whitesville) 49, Hart County 47

Mason Smith scored 10 of his team-high 19 points in the first half to lead the Raiders past Hart County 49-47. Harrison Barnett added 14 points, and Thomas Payne had seven points.

“This was a gritty win today versus a physical, well-coached Hart County team,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Nathan West said. “We did a great job of executing in the half court and handling their pressure in the end. Harrison and Mason were big tonight, but it was a total team effort.”
