Trinity (Whitesville) took down Hancock County, while Apollo and Daviess County both won. In other action, McLean County lost at home.
Apollo 69, Daniel Boone (Gray), TN 44
Kayden Green scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half to power the Eagles past Daniel Boone 69-44. Tate Powers added 16 points, while Carlos Cruz and Landon Henning both finished with 12 points.
“It was a great trip to Daytona Beach. We finished 2-1 and third place in the event,” Apollo Head Coach Ryne Tinsley said. “We had a lot of fun and bonding as a group. We are excited to get back to the state.”
Daviess County 86, Boyd County 78
Trailing 23-17 early, the Panthers rode a strong second half to take down Boyd County 86-78. Jonathan Moss led the way with 33 points, six assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block, and DeAaron Watkins recorded a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Acton also finished with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Murray 77, McLean County 75
Camden Baird scored a team-high 19 points as the Cougars fell to Murray 77-57. Jaelin Groves finished with 14 points, and Layden Bozarth had 10 points.
Trinity (Whitesville) 62, Hancock County 46
Mason Smith led the way with 16 points, and Harrison Barnett added 14 points in the Raiders’ 62-46 win over Hancock County. Grant Howard hit two threes to go along with his 12 points, and Thomas Payne recorded 10 points.
“I was proud that our guys were able to handle adversity as we battled a physical Hancock County team,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Nathan West said. “It was another total effort, with four guys scoring in double digits, and one more near double-digits. Our bench guys were fantastic as well. I think this was the best game collectively from them.”
For the Hornets, Seth Hunt finished with a team-high 13 points, and Mehkel London added 12 points.
