It an important 3rd Region game, Daviess County beat McLean County, while Hancock County and Trinity (Whitesville) both won. In other action, Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic both lost.
Daviess County 50, McLean County 24
Traveling to McLean County, Kennedy Lane scored a game-high 21 points and added five rebounds as the Lady Panthers won 50-24. Riley Hayden finished with seven points and six rebounds, Jenna Stewart scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Briley Henry hit a three to go with her five points.
For the Lady Cougars, Karlee Floyd led the way with 11 points, while Anna Miller scored four points.
Hancock County 50, Ohio County 44
Ansley House scored 19 points, and Madyson Higdon added five points and 13 rebounds to fuel the Lady Hornets past Ohio County 50-44. Carolina Jones recorded nine points, and Jaylee Johnson finished with six points and eight rebounds.
Grayson County 58, Owensboro 53
Abby Sapp caught fire in the second half, scoring 15 of her 21 points as the Lady Devils fell just short to Grayson County, 58-53. Unique Carter-Swanagan hit three threes to go with her 16 points, Avery Martin had six points, and Adrean Carothers and Olivia Hogg both scored four points.
Henderson County 63, Owensboro Catholic 60
Leading 46-41 entering the fourth quarter, the Lady Aces were unable to close it out, dropping a heartbreaker to Henderson County in overtime, 63-60. Katie Hagan led the way with 18 points, Claudia Munsey and Taylor Mannahan both scored 12 points, and Sophia Newby finished with 11 points.
Trinity (Whitesville) 65, Greenwood 62
Ry’Lynne Meserve hit a pair of threes to go with her team-high 22 points to power the Lady Raiders past Greenwood 65-62. Ella Morris finished with 16 points, Preslee Meserve scored 13 points, and Sophie Hatfield recorded a monster double-double of 13 points and 20 rebounds.
“The girls worked hard for 32 minutes,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Emily Hernandez said. “We ran the floor well and pitched ahead for run outs. Sophie Hatfield pulled down 20 boards and recorded her 500th rebound tonight. These girls worked together to get great shots and I feel like they continue to improve.”
