McLean County beat Hancock County in an important 3rd Region game, while Daviess County cruised past Greenwood. In other action, Trinity (Whitesville) lost.
Daviess County 68, Greenwood 46
Kennedy Lane led the way with 27 points, three steals, two rebounds, and one block as the Lady Panthers beat Greenwood 68-46. Riley Hayden hit five threes to go along with her 22 points, and Briley Henry was third on the team in scoring with nine points.
“I was proud of our execution and the way we shared the ball,” Daviess County Head Coach Natalie Payne said. “We had a season high 19 assists.”
McLean County 50, Hancock County 37
Eighth-grader Bentley Wagner hit three threes to go along with her team-high 16 points as the Lady Cougars beat Hancock County 50-37. Ella Larkin added 10 points, six rebounds, and six steals, while Karlee Floyd finished with 10 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.
“I was very proud of our girls defensively around the rim,” McLean County Head Coach Eli Ellis said. “We will continue to grow with our efficiency in transition and scoring around the rim. We also punched our ticket to the 3rd Region Tournament and 10th District Championship game.
For the Lady Hornets, Ansley House recorded a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds and Carolina Jones scored nine points. Izzy Ross finished with five points and nine rebounds, and Madyson Higdon added four points.
Edmonson County 73, Trinity (Whitesville) 56
Preslee Meserve led the way with 16 points, and Ella Morris added 14 points as the Lady Raiders fell to Edmonson County 73-56. Sadie Morris and Olivia Starks both scored seven points, and Ry’Lynne Meserve had five points.
