Trailing 14-0 early, the Lady Panthers rode a suffocating second-half defensive performance to stun Bowling Green 53-38. Kennedy Lane led the way with 23 points on an efficient 9-15 shooting, while adding three rebounds and a steal.
Riley Hayden hit a pair of threes to go with her 14 points, Briley Henry recorded eight points, three steals, two rebounds, and one block, and Jenna Stewart had four points, two steals, and one rebound.
“We were able to fight back by turning our defense up a few notches,” Daviess County Head Coach Natalie Payne said. “We held them to 11 points in the second half. Holding a team like Bowling Green to 11 points in a half is something to be proud of.”
The Lady Panthers return to action on Monday when they take on Owensboro in the first round of the 9th District Tournament.
