The Owensboro Youth Hockey Association will close out its winter season Saturday with its annual Blast Bash, a daylong celebration that includes a dunk tank, activities, food trucks, and more.
The event will be held at the Edge Ice Center. It begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude with the 12U/10U Championship game at 4:30 p.m. Organizers say the celebration brings together players, families, coaches, and supporters from across the community.
Throughout the day, attendees can participate in a silent auction featuring items donated by community partners, a “dunk a coach” dunk tank, photo booths, and other interactive activities. Breakfast Express Food Truck will serve in the morning, followed by Hillbilly’s BBQ Food Truck later in the day.
“Our recreational league gives every child the opportunity to play hockey, regardless of experience,” said Chris Gendek, OYHA Board Vice-President. “Whether it’s their first time on skates or they’re building toward the next level, we’re committed to creating a positive, inclusive experience for every player.”
Board President Jill Switzer said the event serves as both a celebration and a show of appreciation.
“Blast Bash is a chance to celebrate our athletes, recognize the support of our families, coaches, and volunteers, bringing the hockey community together in a fun way to close out the year,” Switzer said.
OYHA offers development-focused hockey opportunities for youth at multiple age levels, with an emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
